Santa to switch on Christmas lights in Bray

SANTA WILL be in Bray again this year for the official switch-on of the town's Christmas lights on Saturday November 19.

'We at Bray Chamber would like to thank all those businesses who have already paid a contribution towards the Christmas Lights and we would ask those remaining businesses to make their contribution as quickly as possible,' said PRO Katrina Farrelly- Cooke.

The event will start with a lantern parade with local children meeting at the Florence Road car park at 4.30 p.m. for a 4.45 p.m. start.

The parade will make its way through the main street and on to the Civic Plaza for the ceremony.

Every child that takes part will receive a ticket for a draw to with the prize of switching on the lights with the guest of honour.

MC for the event will be Declan Meehan, presenter of the Morning Show on East Coast Radio.

To get everyone in the Christmas spirit there will be story telling at the plaza from 3.30 p.m. to 4.15 p.m. before a performance by Bray Gospel Choir as well as St. Cronan's School Choir.

Cathaoirleach of Bray Town Council Ronan Mcmanus and Chamber President will say a few words before Santa makes an appearance.
