Award winning singer Caroline Moreau will perform in Bray this month.
Since 2002, Caroline Moreau has been wowing Irish audiences with her distinctive brand of Gallic charm, comic banter and heart-stopping vocal talent. Taking over Bewley's Cabaret Theatre in a haze of heavily accented patter and superb showmanship, her debut show 'Crime Passionnel' was delivered with passionate conviction and became a sell-out. Since then, she has performed as a solo artist, in a double-act with acclaimed gypsy violin virtuoso Oleg Ponomarev and with a range of internationally respected musicians in venues all across Ireland and in the UK, France & Spain.
On February 22, Moreau will perform a rare concert with acclaimed South American quintet Lunfardia led by Argentinean guitar supremo Ariel Hernandez at in the Mermaid Arts Centre. Now based in his native Argentina, Ariel and Caroline have developed an extraordinary musical chemistry since they first met on an Irish stage in 2006. Hailing from Ireland and Argentina, Lunfardia's members are Lucas Gonzalez (percussion and flamenco guitar), Malachy Robinson (double-bass), Ken Rice (violin), Dermot Dunne (accordion) and band leader Ariel Hernandez (guitar, composition and vocals). Fresh, dynamic and versatile, this quintet has built an impressive reputation for its virtuosic explorations of classical, folk and jazz.
The concert takes place in the Mermaid Arts Centre on Friday, February 22 and for bookings contact 01 2724030.
