Fourth, fifth and sixth class students at Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath in Greystones were treated to a reading from children's author and poet Pauline Devine last Thursday.

Pauline – who normally writes in English – read extracts from her first Irish language work, 'Mamó agus an Peileadóir.'

The book – which is on the school curriculum – follows Ciara (who loves to play football) on her adventures as she sets off on a holiday with her mother and grandmother.

In addition to this work, Pauline has also published four English-language novels for children aged 6-12: 'Best Friends', its sequel 'Best Friends Again', 'Riders on the Grey Lake' and 'The Hungry Horse.'

Pauline's second Irish language book, 'An Capall Ocrach'
