The awards show, which is sponsored by the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) is part of a series of songwriting workshops designed to use music as a means to inspire and empower the marginalised youths.

Wicklow Town Youthreach's song ' Were Going Through Changes' has been nominated in two categories, Best Vocal Duet and Best Rap.

Arklow Youthreach have been nominated in the Best Vocal Duet for ' Tomorrow Land' and West Wicklow Youthreach are nominated in the Best Male Singer, Best Female Singer and Best Song categories for 'Meant to Shine.'

Tinahely National School also received a nomination for Best Junior Category for their song 'Past Meets Present.'

All the nominated songs were written and recorded by youths with no previous singing-songwriting experience.

Each entry is also available on Youtube for any would-be fans out there.

The ' Grammy' style music awards will see all the guests treated to a visual feast for the senses and live music from the emerging electro pop outfit, Miracle Bell, Kasey Smith (formerly of Louis Walsh's Wonderland) and others.
