A carnival atmosphere will descend on Arklow on Saturday, 6 July in the grounds of Arklow Celtic Football club at 1.30p.m. where Ireland's top performing Marching Bands, Showbands, and Drum Corps will compete in the first competition of the 2013 season.

This will also mark the 25th Anniversary of the Irish Marching Bands Association and will be hosted by Inbhear Mor Marchers in association with IMBA, DCE (Drum Corps Europe) and Arklow Seabreeze Festival.

The event will form part of Arklow Seabreeze Festival's celebration of The Gathering and all participating groups will march from Lamberton to the Bandstand on the Main Street of Arklow, after competitions have finished, and a 'Parade of Colour' will grace the streets of Arklow.

All groups and organisations in the town are encouraged to take part and march with the groups from Lamberton.

Organisation and local groups wishing to take part in the 'Parade of Colours' are asked to contact Els Penston, Chairperson Arklow Seabreeze Festival as soon as possible at 086 3853674.
