Hundreds of special children converged on Festina Lente equestrian centre in Bray last week to celebrate Christmas.
The children were invited to join the team at Festina Lente for a combination of therapeutic and recreational riding sessions and Christmas workshops to make individualised Christmas candles.
The Jack and Jill foundation; Laura Lynn Children's Hospice; Temple Street Children's Hospital; Springboard and more organisations and families were involved in the wonderful festive week.
Each child was also able to make a Christmas wish and place it on the wishing tree.
Over 300 children took part in the experience, which included Santa's grotto in the woodland area.
Santa asked each child's family to brink along at least one food item so that he could put together food hampers for families this Christmas.
A 'secret santa' sponsored the week, so there was no charge at all for the children and their families. 'This Christmas it is all about giving back to those who need it,' said a Festina Lente representative.
