Barry novel to film in Wicklow
A FILM adaptation of Sebastian Barry's novel 'The Secret Scripture' is to be shot in Wicklow in June of next year, according to the Irish Film & Television Network (IFTN).
The Man Booker Prize-shortlisted book is to be adopted into a feature film by Noel Pearson, who also produced the Academy Award-winning 'My Left Foot'.
According to IFTN, the main character – Rosaleen McNulty – will be played in her younger and older incarnations by 'Zero Dark Thirty' star Jessica Chastain and fellow Oscar-winner actress Vanessa Redgrave respectively.
Irish screenwriter Johnny Ferguson – who died earlier this year – provided the screenplay for the film, which will also be shot at locations in Sligo.
