BIFE Performing Arts Students recently performed ' The Merchant of Venice'; Shakespeare's unsettling and controversial comedy that explores and exposes double standards and prejudice in law, commerce, religion and sexual identity.

Populated with lovers, clowns and one of the most unforgettable outsiders in all theatre, the complex character of Shylock, this is a work that challenges the nature of justice and mercy.

The two-night performance at Mermaid Arts Centre was a triumph for the cast and crew, and enjoyed immensely by the audience.
