Bray woman Laura Tobin raised €1,600 for the Irish Heart Foundation, by holding fundraising events to mark her 30th birthday.

Money is still coming in, and Laura is very grateful to everyone for their generosity and help.

Sadly, Laura's brother Paul died suddenly last July from a heart-related condition. He was aged just 35.

Laura wanted to do something in his honour and to raise money for a good cause.

So last Saturday, she was the guest of honour at a table quiz in the fisherman's club in Bray, and earlier on she hosted a football match at the People's park.

Friends, family, neighbours from Kilbride Grove, the Garden County football club and others all took part in the fun events.

The quiz was great fun, with family friend Marc Nolan taking on the roll of quiz-master.

When two teams finished neck-and-neck, the only think for it was to force them into a dance-off for the title.

Laura was joined by her parents Breda and Paddy, her brother Alan, and the late Paul's girlfriend Deborah, as well as a host of relatives and friends.

Everyone had a brilliant time, although Paul was very much missed on the night.

There was a fun raffle with prizes kindly donated by retailers and businesses from all over Bray.
