IWKR in top form

IWKR travelled to Monaghan recently to compete at the Ballybay Karate Club competition, where a number of Junior members showed that great things come in small packages.

The stars of the IWKR members on the day were Team Dragon Kings, consisting of Donnadh Mooney, Ruairi Reynolds and John McGuinness, who came away with gold in Team Kata (form), Elizabeth Marcus who also came away with gold in her Individual Kata Section.

Refusing to leave to leave all the glory to the Junior Members was Senior, David O'Donnell who sailed through a huge section in the Senior Individual Kata Category to win gold.

With clubs attending the competition from all over the country, each member of IWKR were up against stiff competition. This was the first time that IWKR attended this competition and with June being a very busy time of year for all, between shool exams, work committments and preparations for gradings, Sensei Tommy Marrett, Head of IWKR, was thrilled with the successes.
