DUNDALK lass Amy Broadhurst became the only other Irish female boxer after Katie Taylor to win gold in European competition following a thrilling win over Svetlana Khilchenko of Russia in Poland at the weekend.
The Dealgan BC southpaw, whose brothers Stephen and Paul have won bronze in European Youth and Schoolboy competition, claimed a 16-15 win in Wladyslawowo.
The rivals shared the first round 5-5, but the Russian edged 9-8 ahead after the second. However, six-time Irish champion Broadhurst kept finding the target with big lefts in the final round to secure victory.
