Brennan stars in Dynamites victory over Cougars

THE Dynamites under 16 girls team travelled with an under strength team to take on Navan Cougars on Wednesday last in St Pats Sports centre Navan.
New signing S Brennan with 22pts to her credit was without doubt the star of this game as she ran the floor bagging score after score to help her team take the points and leave them top of the under-16 North East Basketball League.
Going into the last round of games before the holiday season with Dynamites playersall beginning to find top form, coach Orla Brennan will have a hard task in selecting her starting five as Dynamites outstanding new signings are finding their feet and fighting for a starting place on her team.
Scores: S Brennan 22pts, N Weldon 8pts, C Keenan 4pts, S Kearney 10pts, N Goodman 5pts. ONCE again Navan were no match for a Dynamites team who travelled to St Pats to play in the North East Basketball League under 14 girls competition. Sitting third in their league this under-14 team will have it all to do in the second half of the season if they are to fight for their first title.
With scores coming once again from the impressive post player A Kerley, whose unselfish play assisted her team throughout this game to allow scores to flow from J Rosagaran, C Breen, N Sadlier and the very impressive S Rice there was no way back for Cougars.
The girls also proved too strong for Oldcastle.
With a magnificent 17 game points from outstanding R McNally and 14 from post player A Kerley there was no way back for Oldcastle as Dynamites ran riot. S Murtagh added six more points and with J Rosagaran and C Mc Mahon with 4pts apiece it was game over and a successful night on the road for Dynamites. KILSARAN Dynamites travelled to Oldcastle midweek to play two games in the girls under 12 and under 14 North East Basketball League. First up was the under 12 and with C McNally (5pts), S Luckie (6pts), N Sadlier (6pts) and B Byrne (4pts) in top form Dynamites edged out a tight encounter to finish up as league leaders going into their final game before the Christmas break. V Imeda, N Kearney, E Grey, A Mc Mahon, E Fallon and P Mjokun are also players to watch in the future.
