Azeez lands silver hat-trick for Dundealgan
Shadam Azeez was the club's first medal winner when he took silver in the Boys U16 Long Jump. He later went on to claim a second silver medal in the 200m U16. He then won his heat in the Boys U16 100m, but was unlucky to just finish outside the medals in a closely contested final. To round off the day, Shadam was a member of the Louth team which took silver in the U17 sprint relay.
Tumininu Olaitam, while outside the individual medal positions, produced a fine performance in the U17 100m, and was fourth in a highly competitive U17 Shot. He was also a member of the Louth U17 sprint relay team which won silver.
Two Dundealgan girls produced very promising performances in the U14 Hurdles, namely Sharon Olatunde and Alexis Nwachuknu. Alexis also ran strongly to qualify for the Girls 80m semi-final.
Tosin Bankoe had a personal best in the U17 Shot Putt and claimed the bronze medal. Both Fatimah Abubakar, making her debut in the U18 Shot Putt, and Megan Grimes in the U14 Shot Putt, performed very well. Fatimah also impressed with a strong U18 100m.
Newcomer Eduards Dancis proved that he will be a force to be reckoned with in the future, with gritty performances in the U15 100m and Long Jump, and with his U15 Relay effort.
Connor McCarron claimed an extra birthday present when he won silver in the Boys U13 shot from a large entry list.
Club training continues on Wednesdays from 6.45 - 8pm at the Marist grounds.
