AMPUTEE athlete Garry Hoey will face the challenge of a lifetime, when he competes in the Great Limerick Run Marathon Relay next Bank Holiday weekend.
Garry, from Belfry, is part of a four-man team from the Irish Amputee Football Association aiming to get into the Guinness Book of Records for the longest distance undertaken by amputee athletes without their prosthetic limbs.
'I will covering a distance of 6.5 miles with only my crutches,' said Garry, who will represent Ireland when the Six Nations amputee football tournament is held in Limerick this summer.
