LANNLEIRE notched up their third win of this season's league campaign thanks in part to full forward Carlos Lambe's two goal haul.

The Wolfe Tones still searching for their opening win of the campaign started brightly with Gideon Lugoye putting the Drogheda side ahead. However they were soon behind when Carlos Lambe ghosted past the Tones defence to score the game's opening goal.

Both sides traded points for the remainder of what was a competitive opening half but once again Lannleire dealt the hosts a bitter blow when Paul Callan scored his sides second goal to give Lannleire a 2-5 to 0-7 half-time lead.

Substitute Darragh Brannigan gave the home side hope when he finished off a good team move to grab the Tones first goal of the game. However any thoughts of a comeback were soon put to bed when referee Paddy Matthews awarded a penalty to Lannleire which Carlos Lambe duly despatched to put his side six points clear. Alan Murphy added a late point to seal Lannleire's third victory of the campaign.
