Joe's into third
ST JOSEPH'S won the battle for third spot in Division 2 with an impressive nine-point victory over the Bride's in Cluskey Park.
Aaron Hoey opened the scoring, but the home side replied with two points in quick succession, before another pointed free from Hoey on ten minutes levelled the game.
The Joe's slowly started to turn the screw as the half progressed and retired at the interval with a double scores lead, 0-8 to 0-4.
St. Brides sprung out of the traps after the restart with two efforts that were dubiously waved wide and the Joes took advantage with a point from Conall Smyth and a quick goal from Alan McKenna to effectively end the match as a contest with thirty five minutes on the clock.
St. Brides never gave up and a pointed free from Patrick Reilly opened their second-half account.
However, the home side tagged on three more points without reply to leave them 10 points to the good with eight minutes to play.
