SEAN McDermotts turned in a strong second half display as they fought back from four points down to defeat Lannleire in Dunleer on Sunday afternoon.
The introduction of Danny Woods in the second period provided the catalyst for the revivial and his goal from a penalty was crucial. Equally important was a fine save from Brendan McGahon in the dying seconds to deny Nicky Malone a certain goal.
The Dunleer men looked to be in control in the first half as they went in leading by 0-7 to 0-5 and two early points stretched the advantage to four after six minutes of the second half.However, a foul on Ian Corbally allowed Woods to reduce the gap and his side were back on terms soon after.
It was level pegging for much of the remainder of the game but Kevin Carroll got the crucial goal in the closing minutes as his team held out for an important win.
