U-16 HC Semi-final - St Fechin's 3-11 Naomh Moninne 2-3

HOLDERS St Fechin's qualified to meet Knockbridge/ Geraldines in this years Louth U16 hurling championship final thanks to this hard earned victory over Naomh Moninne in the semi final played at the Ramparts on Sunday afternoon.
The Termonfeckin outfit had the better of the opening exchanges and led by two points from John Stephenson and the impressive Paul Matthews before Moninne responded with their opening point kicked over by Tadhg McEneaney on eight minutes.
The Fechins extended their lead with four unanswered points which included two more from frees from Stephenson and two from play by corner forward Evan McGrane.
Their lead was cut to just two points on 22 minutes when McEneaney was on target again for the Dundalk side as he fired past keeper Fintan Gibney for the games opening goal.
Two minutes from half time Paul Matthews struck for his sides first goal which helped them to lead by 1-7 to 1-1 at the break.
The Fechins started the second half in determined fashion and they had all but wrapped up the victory by the 38th minute when goals from Daniel Burnell and Ciaran Walsh had them now leading by 3-9 to 1-1.
