DOWDALLSHILL collected their first points of the campaign, thanks to this comprehensive win over an understrength Wolfe Tones in Drogheda on Sunday afternoon.
First half goals from Ciaran O'Callaghan and Colin Agnew set the 'Hill on their way and they were soon a massive ten points clear when Darren Rogers hit two points in the space of two minutes. The Tones were struggling to get any sort of a foothold in the game and as half time approached they found themselves further behind with Noel Finnegan scoring a fine point for the visitors.
That point helped Dowdallshill establish a cosy 12 point lead at half time with the scoreboard reading 2-7 to 0-1.The visitors continued to boss the second half, with Paul Gill raising their third green flag of the afternoon to effectively end this game as a contest.
To Wolfe Tones credit they kept on fighting and managed to draw the second half thanks to a Keith Farrell goal and two Mark McKenna points. However the damage had been done in that opening half and it was Dowdallshill who ended up well deserved winners.Best for the 'Hill were David Clegg, Vincent Roe, Gary Corrigan and Darren Rogers.
