ST FECHIN'S continued their good form this season to remain unbeaten in the Senior League for the first time ever.
The home side started the better at Pairc an Chuinnigh and opened up an early three point lead through frees from wing forward Sean Byrne.
St. Fechins stayed in touch thanks to a good score from Wayne Treacy, but Knockbridge continued to pile the pressure on and tried to make best use of the wind with the pick of their scores being a long range effort from centre back Ronan Byrne.
The game remained close and as the home side looked to build a lead they were met by a response from the Fechins every time.
The Termonfeckin men picked off three scores in the final ten minutes of the first half through Cathal Ryan, David Stephenson and Oisin Byrne to trail by 0-7 to 0-4 at the interval.
The second half proved fruitful for the away side as they closed the gap and eventually opened up a two point lead for themselves.
The only goal of the game came from the stick of Barry Devlin who had notched up 2-3 from play against Pearse Og the previous Friday. A long high ball in, carried by the wind, found its way to Devlin, who slipped in behind the Knockbridge defence and rounded his defender to net a superb goal.
Frees from Cathal Ryan and David Stephenson opened up a two point lead for the Fechin's entering the closing stages, but Sean Byrne of Knockbridge found his range twice to leave the honours even, and set the stage nicely for a championship renewal in two weeks time.
