Upstate Theatre Project is looking for young people aged 16 to 25 from across Louth to take part in a new programme, establishing the Upstate Youth Ensemble and preparing a public performance for the end of the summer.
The project will use physical theatre techniques requiring high levels of commitment and fitness, concentration and imagination.
Combining this physicality with poignant text devised by the young people taking part, Upstate hopes to forge an exciting new form of performance that is innovative and energising.
Anyone with an interest in contemporary music, dance and physical theatre is invited to take part. Even those unsure about committing for the full programme can still take part in the introductory workshop, which will take place this coming Thursday, July 18 in the Town Hall from 2 to 4 p.m.
Following this introductory workshop, members of the Upstate Youth Ensemble will work throughout the summer with experienced Upstate facilitators, devising a public performance for the end of the summer.
Participation in the Upstate Youth Ensemble is free, but booking for the introductory workshop is required.
