DUNDALK CONTINUED its 'Winning Streak' on the Lotto TV gameshow with birthday girl Tara Callaghan winning the most money on last Saturday's programme.

The Red Barns Road woman celebrated her birthday last Saturday with a trip to the RTE studios for the Winning Streak show, which is presented by Marty Whelan and Geri Maye. And Tara, whose parents are Mick and Colette Callaghan, walked away as the programme's top prizewinner, with a cool €43,000.

The trainee financial advisor, who bought her winning scratch card in Dixon's Londis, Quay Street, was the third winner from Dundalk to be on the TV show three weeks in a row. Tara, who works at Frank Lynch and Co. Accountants has another connection to Winning Streak - her boyfriend, John McGahon, is a coach at Dundalk Lawn Tennis club and fellow coach and pal, Dara McLoughlin, was on the programme just a few weeks previously.

Tara told producers she bought the scratch card herself, but was out in Dublin with friends for an early birthday celebration when her mum rang with the news that her name had been picked for the following week's show.

She said she found it very hard to believe the news was true, but celebrated her birthday in style with a show-topping win on Saturday night. She said she is planning to buy 'great Christmas presents for everyone this year and have a very special Christmas'.
