Spate of car break-ins over the festive period

THERE HAVE been a number of car break-ins in Dundalk and North Louth over the festive period, gardai have said

A Kindle, a mobile phone and office equipment were stolen from a car parked at Ravensdale forest around 6pm on Sunday when they driver went for a walk.

And a thief was even busy on Christmas Day when a car parked in the driveway of a house at Grange Drive, Muirhevnamor, was broken into and a provisional licence and loose change were stolen.

Another car was also targeted in the Slieve Foy Park area of the estate between 6pm on Christmas Eve and 6pm on December 28. A snooker cue, a disabled driver's badge and an iPod docking station were taken from the vehicle.

And a handbag, containing a mobile phone and cash, was taken from a car that was parked at a house in Cedarwood Park, Cox's Demesne, on Christmas Eve, between 8.30pm and 9.15pm.
