ST THERESE'S Special Olympic athlete Oliver Hanratty has qualified to represent his country in the Bocce event in September 2014 at the European Special Olympics Games in Antwerp, Belgium.
Oliver is the first athlete from the club to qualify for the European Games and has been attending specialized training in Dublin for the past 6 months. He will be in Antwerp for 12 days to compete and take in the local sights.
Oliver is no stranger to Special Olympic Games and brought home both Gold and Silver medals from the Limerick Games in 2010.
He also is very involved in the local drama and musical societies and has appeared on stage at the Town Hall on many occasions.
'St Therese's club would like to wish Oliver and his accompanying family member's best wishes for the games, said a club spokeswoman.
