MATTHEWS Coach Hire are moving their Dundalk town stop to Marshes Shopping Centre from Saturday December 1st onwards.
The company confirmed they will be moving to dedicated passenger facilities at the Main (Pillars) entrance of Marshes Shopping Centre at the beginning of next month.
This new base will replace the existing stop on the Dublin Road and Matthews Coach Hire will no longer stop or pick up from that point.
'We have had to vacate our existing stop on the Dublin Road due to upcoming redevelopment work and the removal of current parking arrangements for passengers and coaches,' said Matthews Coach Hire Managing Director, Paddy Matthews.
He said that all other existing scheduled stops and times will not be affected by this move.
'Matthews' passengers will find purposebuilt bus shelters, access to shopping and refreshments and a dedicated park and ride car park operated by Marshes Shopping Centre at the new stopping point,' said Mr. Matthews.
Secure parking operated by Marshes will be available to Matthews regular customers at a monthly rate of €30 – working out at one euro per day.
'We are constantly looking at ways in which we can improve our service,' he added.
'Passenger facilities will be better at our new home at Marshes and the route travel times will remain the same, with the service operating via the Avenue Road.'
'We are sure that our thousands of regular customers will agree that this move will make their travelling experience even better.'
Harry Traynor, Marshes Shopping Centre Manager said: 'Marshes are delighted to be the new transport hub for Matthews Coach Hire bringing an upgrade in service standards with access to high street shopping and excellent facilities.'
He added that ' park 'n' ride' customers are advised to arrange parking passes in advance by contacting the Marshes car park office on 042 9395240 and should use the marked centre lane for access to the parking area on Car Park 3.
' We look forward to working with Matthews and their ever-improving services,' said the centre manager.
