Kevin took great pride in his work and was a talented accordion player

Kevin O'Rafferty 1938 - 2012

The death has occurred peacefully of Kevin O'Rafferty, 2 Patrick Street, Dundalk in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda on December 18th last.

Kevin spent his entire life in no. 2 Patrick Street and was brought up as an only child after the death of his sister, Maura at a very young age.

He began serving his apprenticeship as a painter/decorator and sign writer at the age of 15. He loved his work and his work was in great demand even in his retirement years.

He took great pride in his work and was delighted to have worked on many of the churches in Dundalk and surrounding towns.

Kevin played the button key accordion all through his life and enjoyed many years playing with bands and also as a soloist.

He was very involved with the local Nestling Project and played along with their choir.

He made many new friends through this and enjoyed many outings with them, most notably to Aras An Uachtarain.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Breege and their five children, Maura, Ann, Brian, Roisin and Gerard, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandson, relatives and friends.

Having reposed at his home, Kevin's remains were taken to St. Nicholas Church where Requiem Mass was celebrated by Very Rev. Mark O'Hagan, Adm., who gave the eulogy.

Month's Mind Mass will be held on January 20th, 2013 at 12 noon in St. Nicholas Church.
