Juicebox Comedy night

Published 12/07/2014 | 12:00

THE comedy scene arrives in Dundalk tonight (Wednesday, July 9) as the Spirit Store plays host to the town's premier open mic night for aspiring comedians.

Set up by Buffalo native Kat Horan, the Juicebox Comedy Open Mic is a free event that takes place on the second Wednesday of every month. Now in it's third month, the night has had a good response from local lads trying out their material as well as some visitors from Dublin and Belfast. Although great to see familar and popular faces from stand-up, organiser Horan hopes to get more local people involved, 'To create a comedy scene in Dundalk, we need more local comedians. As much as stand up is about the voice of the individual performing, a comedy scene is about the voice of the community.'

Headlining this week is up and coming Dublin comedian, Alison Spittle.
