Joiner makes donation after being found drunk

A JOINER who was found by Gardai to be very drunk in Dundalk town centre was given the benefit of the Probation Act after he paid €200 to the court poor box.

Kevin Gregory (20), Foxfield Road, Crossmaglen, admitted being drunk when he was encountered by gardaí, who were dealing with an unrelated incident, at Bridge Street on April 6.

His solicitor said Gregory, who has a previous conviction for dangerous driving, wanted to apologise to the gardaí and the court and had some cash in court by way of a donation.

Judge Flann Brennan dismissed the case under the probation act after Gregory paid €200 to the court poor box.
