'Humdinger' sails in to win the Oriel Trophy

Commodore of Carlingford Sailing Club, Jim Garvey presents the Oriel Trophy to Michael McCabe, the Skipper of ' Humdinger', with Michael Harris Barke, the Officer of the Day, who organised the race.

THE Oriel Trophy, a Louth Local Authorities sponsored Sailing Cup, was sailed for in testing conditions in beautiful Carlingford Lough as part of the Carlingford Oyster Pearl Festival.

This Open Event was hosted by Carlingford Sailing Club and is sponsored by Louth Local Authorities in recognition of Louth's famous Maritime Traditions and Past.

The race was won by the boat 'Humdinger', owned by Michael McCabe and the trophy was presented to the winning skipper in Carlingford Sailing Club.

The 'Humdinger' crew comprised Michael McCabe, Helm/ Skipper, Therese Duffy, Main Sheet, Mary McCabe, Pit, Chris Duffy, Jib, Hugh McKey, Foredeck, Fionula McCourt Foredeck.
