Hotelier Helen collects 'best value' national award

COOLEY woman Helen Woods and her husband Brian Heaton who run the Castlewood Hotel in Dingle, Co Kerry have scooped yet another award.

The family-run hotel won the Best Value Hotel category at the National Hospital Awards, where sister Susie collected the award.

The awards are hosted by the Irish Hospitality Magazine are held every year and the judging is all done anonymously.

'The judges come and stay overnight and you don't know! So we were really delighted to get into the final three considering that they have hundreds of entrants', said Helen.

Helen and Brian have been in business in Castlewood House in Dingle for eight years, having previously worked in some of the country's top hotels.

They are featured in John and Sally McKenna's Top 100 Places to stay in Ireland, Michelin, Alistair Sawdays best Places to stay, Best Loved Hotels, Georgina Campbells Guides, in 2012 they were voted Best Hotel in Ireland by Trip Advisor Travellers. They also won in the Hotel and Catering review Gold Medals Awards 2012 and 2013 in the townhouse category.
