LOUTH TD Seamus Kirk has expressed his condolences on the death of former Senator Edward Haughey following a tragic accident last week.
'It was with great shock that I learned of the sudden death of Edward Haughey in a tragic accident last week. He left an indelible mark on politics both sides of the border with his work on the Good Friday Agreement.
'His contribution to the economy in Louth was also notable and the fact that Norbrook Labs today employs 1,700 people across the Northern Ireland is a tremendous legacy. The company's base in Newry acts as a key employer in the town and a driver of the local economy there. Edward's entrepreneurial skills were renowned and will be sorely missed.'
