Dundalk man has a lotto luck with €66,000 prize on Winning Streak
It was a prize winning adventure for Gerard Larkin when he scooped €66,000 on last weekend's RTE Winning Streak gameshow.
Gerard (63), is originally from Dundalk where he was born and reared.
Delighted to have made it through to the national show, he was thrilled to have taken home the top prize of the night.
Gerard and his wife, Marie have three children; Mark, 40, Brónagh, 38 and Padraig, 37.
He is also the proud grandfather to four grandchildren, Ciaran, Conal, Leon and Enya, who are between 13 and five years of age.
His son Padraig and children, Leon and Enya travelled from their home in Sweden to support him on the night.
Gerard previously worked for CIE in their Barrack Street goods depot in Dundalk.
He now cares for his wife, Marie, and during the show took the opportunity to show a photograph of himself with his wife and thank the Birches centre for their support.
Speaking afterwards, Gerard said he would like to 'do up the house' after his successful outing on Winning Streak and help out his children and grandchildren, who were all there to cheer him along.
