AN ORDINARY meeting of the Cooley and District Community Alert will take place in St Mary's Hall, Cooley tomorrow ( Thursday) evening at 8 p.m.
High on the agenda at this meeting is an update on developments relative to the proposal made at the AGM in September that Drug Information Talks be arranged for fifth and sixth class Primary School pupils under the auspices of the Garda Drugs Unit in Dundalk. These talks to be subject to the approval of the Primary School Principals within the area.
Also to be considered is a report from the Joint Policing Committee meeting which took place in Dundalk on November 10. This report will consider matters relating to strategies regarding older people and their safety within the community, the ongoing monitoring of antisocial behaviour and efforts being made to change the behavioural patterns of young male drivers on our roads.
This is an open meeting for all members of the public who have an interest in the work of the Community Alert organisation and who feel that they have a contribution to make which might have a bearing on the wellbeing and safety of our society in general. Visitors from outside the area are very welcome to attend if they so wish.
