A 37-year-old man was arrested after gardai discovered a quantity of cannabis and diazepam during the search of a house in Muirhevnamor on Thursday, February 13, last.
A BMW car was stolen after thieves broken into a house at Clos na Manach, Carlingford between 1.30 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Saturday, February 15. The lock on the back door of the house was forced open and the car keys were taken before the thieves got away with a BMW car which was parked outside.
JEWELLERY AND CASH TAKEN
A quantity of jewellery and cash was stolen from a house at The Rise, Mount Avenue, after thieves got into the property by removing a pane of glass from the kitchen window. The owners were out of the house between 3 and 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, and returned to find their home ransacked and jewellery and cash stolen.
An office window was broken in the Redeemer Resource Centre in the early hours of Friday, February 14, but nothing was stolen.
Three cars were broken into at the Lidl car park, St. Helena on Tuesday, February 11, and the same culprits are suspected of breaking into a car at Felda later that evening.
An iPod was stolen from a car which was parked at the Long Avenue on February 14/15 last.
Minister Fergus O'Dowd has welcomed the allocation of €425,095 to Louth County Council to be invested in upgrading the energy efficiency of local authority homes this year. The funding is part of a three-year jobs stimulus programme that will see the energy efficiency of 25,000 local authority homes in the country improved.
