Brexit sub-commitee agreed

Concerns about the impending impact of Brexit on the border area saw the Dundalk Municipal District Committee agree to the setting up of a Brexit sub-committee at their March meeting.

Councillors had previously spoken of the need for Dundalk to be represented amid the ongoing concerns of a hard border re-emerging.

Committee chairman, Green Party councillor Mark Dearey put forward the proposal for the sub-committee to be set up so as to liaise with Louth County Council on local concerns over the impact of Brexit.

Nominations were put forward and members appointed to the sub-committee Cllr. Conor Keelan, Cllr. John McGahon, Cllr. Kevin Meenan, Cllr. Maeve Yore, and Cllr. Mark Dearey.
