Aisteoiri theatre group prepares for stage debut

THE newly formed Aisteoiri theatre group make their debut in An Tain Theatre this Friday and Saturday night with the stage production of 'The Misremembered Man'.

Dubliner David Kiely has gathered together a cast made up largely of first-timers to bring Christina McKenna's best selling novel to the stage.

It tells the story of Jamie McCloone, who lives alone on a small farm since the death of his Uncle Mick.

His neighbours, the McFaddens, decide that what he needs is a wife, and they point him in the direction of the Lonely Hearts column in the local paper.

Jamie answers one, placed by a certain Lydia Devine. The result is, well, unpredictable. And hilarious.

Curtain-up is at 8 p.m. and tickets, priced €10 are available from the box office, Dundalk Town Hall, 10am to 4pm, tel 042 9392919.
