DUNDALK Active Retirement ended the season in style with a summer tea party in Carroll Mead last week.

The association held the afternoon tea before closing for the the summer break, and an enjoyable afternoon was had by all.

'We had a very successful year, and after the meeting we had different activities every week, said Una Crilly PRO.

'Once a month we had lectures on subjects relevant to older people given by experts,' added Una.

Among the activities members enjoyed throughout the year were 'sit fit' yoga, along with fun quizzes, bingo or cards. Oil painting lessons were arranged for members.

'The meeting is a good place to meet with friends,' added Una. 'We also have a two part choir which met on Thursday afternoons in the Magnet Centre.'

Lastly, Mary Conlon arranged a day trip once a month to places of interest or else to the theatre, and a holiday in May for members and friends. 'Dundalk Active retirement is now closed for the summer. However it will open again on Monday afternoon the 8th of September, when we hope to welcome new members.'
