A €50,000 investment has resulted in Felda Health and Fitness having one of the finest free weight suites in Europe, according to Ciaran O'Connor.
As the gym saw an influx of around 500 new and returning members after the closure of JJB and it was due to this increase, which brings the number of current members up 5,500 members.
'It was due to this increase that we decided to invest in providing additional space for our users,' said Ciaran.
A new area dedicated to free weights has been kitted out with dumbells and racks, making it the one of the biggest free weights of any gym in Europe, never mind the country.
' This means that we have more weights for members to use on the floor and there's less queuing,' he said.
And they have also provided more free weights and benches for use by women members to cater for the move away from cardiovascular training towards weights.
'We are responding to the needs of our members and changes in fittness training.'
Felda has also employed aerobics instructress Aveen who had previously worked in JJB.
She is running a number of classes which are proving very popular.
