THE PARISH'S Youth café is re-open again after the Christmas break and anxious to receive new members.
The café is in essence a centre for teenagers to drop in to and engage in social activity.
The opening hours have been extended, with an extra session on a Saturday afternoon between 3pm and 5pm.
This is in addition to the regular Friday night slot from 7.30pm to 9.30pm
The Centre caters for boys and girls attending secondary school, spanning the full cycle from first year to sixth year.
A large new group of voluntary helpers have also offered their services to assist in the running and supervision of the centre.
The Centre – a contemporary style youth club, was officially opened in October 2011 and is based in the Legion of Mary hall on Sandy Lane.
The hall was refurbished and re-equipped in line with the tastes of the club's members, with the cost of this work funded by Louth Leader Partnership.
The Café was born out of the Parish Drug Initiative, a pilot project established to initiate a strategy to combat the growing problem of drug and alcohol abuse among youth.
