OVER TWO hundred and fifty people have signed up to participate in Operation Gersformation, organised by the Geraldines club with the help of health, fitness and nutrition experts.
They have designed a ten week programme to increase health awareness and help the local community to be a healthier place and last Sunday morning they were out in force for a walk, jog or run depending on fitness levels.
All sessions to date have drawn a very good attendance, with participants enjoying their involvement and the feedback to date has been very positive.
The programme is varied consisting of events aimed at providing participants with all the tools to help them achieve their personal goals.
It's not just about health and fitness; it's also about engaging in a social event where fun and fitness share priority. All monies raised go directly to the club.
Activities will include circuit training, running groups, zumba and yoga.
Participants have been supplied with an information booklet, and will undergo a weekly weigh in, receive nutritional advice, and take part in a Family Walk in the mountains.
There will also be the option to take part in a four mile run at the end of programme. The Road Safety has provided high visibility vests for all participants.
