BLACKROCK GIRL Guides are once again running their toy appeal this Christmas in association with the local St. Vincent de Paul Conference to help children in need in their area – Blackrock, Haggardstown and surrounding areas.
The appeal drew a huge response over the last two years, enabling the guides, in conjunction with SVP, to help over 60 families in desperate need in our local area.
The girls invite help to give to even more families and children in need this year. The appeal will kick off with a collection point at the Tree Lighting ceremony on December 2. Containers will also be provided at both Centra and Vivo Sores Blackrock and Greengates from December 1 to 16.
There will also be a raffle at the Ladybirds, Brownies and Girl Guides Christmas Show, Sunday, December 16, in Blackrock Community Centre, and all proceeds will go to the Toy Appeal.
They will donate their pocket money or give up one of their presents to buy a toy for a child in need this Christmas and would love you to help.
They are asking for new toys for kids of all ages, not forgetting the teenagers, up to the value of €10.
