IT was time to celebrate the achievements of all students when the annual Junior Cycle Awards ceremony took place in O'Fiaich College last week.

Much excitement and anticipation surrounded this important event where students, parents and staff gathered to reward and applaud those who had achieved excellence in a wide range of activities both inside and outside the classroom, school and wider community.

Principal Padraig McGovern and Karen Patton, Deputy Principal, of the college congratulated the successful students on their achievement and wished them well with their curricular and extracurricular activities during the remainder of this school year.

Mr. McGovern paid particular tribute to this year's very successful Junior Certificate results and wished the students well in their senior cycle.

'One of the highlights of the afternoon was the David Dillon Award, Student of the year award,' said Mr. McGovern. ' This most prestigious award recognises academic commitment and generous participation in all aspects of school life and wider school community.'

He added that this year there were very worthy joint winners – Testimony Adegboye and Megan Cordial.

'We congratulate all winners from their individual class groups and overall year awards and all who achieved recognition on this occasion,' said Mr. McGovern.
