Sinn Féin councillor Antóin Watters has thanked the community for their help in the Rathcor clean-up, which takes places every year.

This year around 35 volunteers gathered to help on Saturday morning.

Speaking after the clean-up Cllr Watters said: 'It's great to see so many people get involved, especially young people. This annual spring clean-up around Rathcor Shore is always well attended and shows that the people really take pride in their area.

'We have had a great day's craic as well as making Rathcor shore attractive again.'

'I want to thank all those who attended and helped, we collected around 30 full bags of rubbish and they have been disposed of properly.'
