WE HEADED for the Fairways Hotel on Saturday night especially for their Christmas party night and by the time we got there, the place was full of festive cheer and everyone up for making the best of their parties.
I wasn't too long in the door when I met up with Tina Cooney Elder from Ashbrook and Kate Coburn from Oaklawns who told me they were with the Alzheimers Home Care and were looking forward to an epic night.
Next I met up with Ann and Paul Larkin from Mullabawn who told me they were with Cargotec and assured me it was going to be a cracking night for sure.
After this I caught up with Sheila McLaughlin from Marsh Road who was with Ann Smith from Bay Estate, Marian Gill from Kingswood, Maura Rainey from Jenkinstown, Rita Matthews from Point Road, Mary White from Jenkinstown, Bernie Dillon from Avenue Road, Pauline Nixon from Kilcurry and Eileen Wynne from Kilkerley who told me they are all just good friends and were out to enjoy a Christmas party together.
I then caught up with Sinead Meegan originally from Dunleer but now resident in Termonfeckin and she was there with her sister Suzanne McGorman from Dunleer and they were awaiting the arrival of their old mates from school days and they included Carmel Fanning, Eithne McGorman, Caroline Jobson, Eilish Byrne, Tracy McLoughlin and Sharon Kavanagh all from Dunleer and the sisters told me they were going to be ' anything but shrinking violets in the corner' on the night!
Not too long later I ventured back over to the Alzheimers Home Care group and met up with Maeve Montgomery and Mary Walsh both from Blackrock, Fiona and Chris Merry also from Blackrock, Joanna Rogan and Paula Murphy both from Ardee, Amanda Crosby from Lios Dubh, Lyndsey Keenan from Knockbridge, Ladi Yusuf from Mullaharlin Park, Catherine Isede from Clontigora Court and Philip Meegan from Dromiskin who were all looking forward to their party night although I think many of the ladies think I am stalking them I've met them a few times over the last couple of months!
I then headed over for a chat with Linda Elliman from Muirhevnamor who was with Conal Crawley also from Muirhevnamor and she told me they were there to party the night away with Cargotec.
Not too long later I then met up with three well dressed men in Shane Gartlan from Tallanstown but now living in Distillery Lane, Padraic McSorley from Forkhill and Keith Brennan from Collon who told me they were out for a night of it with their mates from Cargotec and assured me it was going to be a fantastic night for sure.
Next I got talking to Yvonne Kuc from Ardee and Briege Carolan also from Ardee who were there as the Ardee Daycare Centre party and they were enjoying all the craic with Jim Murphy, Peter Duffy, Briege Gosling and Geraldine Clinton all from Ardee who were waiting to go in and get the party started!
Making my way over to another couple I then got talking to Adele Lee from Claddagh Park and Liam Quinn from Happy Valley who assured me this was going to be a good night and no mistake.
Finally, before we departed I then got talking to El Paso driving instructors and they included my old mate Barry McDermott from Bellurgan, Mark Kelly from Ath Lethan and Wario Galgalo from Castleross who were in form for a party night and told me that this was Mark's first big test seeing that he had only just joined the group!
