Oriel was buzzing for Ashling's 21st party
OUR LAST party on Friday night was the 21st celebrations of the lovely Ashling Stewart from Cherryvale and there to make sure she had a real night to remember were parents Marie and Jim, sisters Annamarie and Lisa and boyfriend Darren Mackin from Ballybarrack and a huge collection of family and friends.
I wasn't too long in the door when I caught up with the birthday girl herself and she was having a laugh with nieces and nephews Chloe and Carla Stewart from Claddagh Park, Tegan, TJ, Leah and Jordan McFaul from Muirhevna who were all having a fantastic time at Ashling's party.
I then decided to have a look round to see who was there and the first group I caught up with included Lucia Haughey from Williamsons Place, Marian Coburn from Doolargy Avenue, Helen Gray from Glenmore Park, number one woman in McGeough's Bar opposite St. Patrick's Marian Gorham from Crescent 1, Imelda Brennan from St. Clements Park, Maeve Watters from Heynestown, Bernie McShane and Ashling's mum Marie Stewart from Cherryvale who were all having a mad time together and were letting everyone else get on with it!
I then headed for another table where I caught up with Ashling's cousins Nicola and Catriona Stewart from Villas 2 who were with her parents, uncle and aunt of Ashling's, Peter and Patricia Stewart and many thanks to Peter for his help in locating the birthday girl earlier in the night.
Beside them I then got talking to Deborah Gonnelly from Muirhevnamor who was having a laugh with Donal and Amanda McClean from Medebawn who told me they are family friends and wanted to wish Ashling a very happy 21st.
Making my way through the huge crowds I got talking to man on his best behaviour, boyfriend Darren Mackin from Ballybarrack who wanted to wish 'Stewball' a happy birthday, he was sitting having a time of it with his mates Keith McEneaney from St. Nicholas Avenue, Madzzer Murphy from Hazelwood Avenue, The Bull Daly and Robbie Mulligan both from Lios Dubh who told me this was going to be a wild one for sure.
Also in their company were Grainne Buckley from Blackrock, Leann, Pauline and Megan Whearty all from Lisdoo, Ashling's sister Lisa Stewart from Claddagh Park, cousin Lyndsey Doogan from Lennon Melia Terrace, Patricia McNally and Miley Martin from Lisdoo who told me they have been mates with Ashling since they were kids and they were on for a major night of celebrations.
I then headed over for a word with the delightful Danielle Flood from Rockfield Court and while I was talking to her, Ciaran Burke from Priorland Gardens wanted to know what was going on, he was then joined by Andrew Martin from Seafield Lawns, Chris Heeney from Beechmount Drive, Kellie Conlon from Marina Park and Ian Sweeney from Bothar Na Feirme who told me they were there to party, eh the reason they got all dressed up for, I thought?
Beside them I then got a word with Becky Taaffe and Fiadh Cullen who had come up from Belfast who were both sitting with Robbie Higgins from Bay Estate and when I asked him was he with either of the two ladies, replied ' the night's still young!'
Not too long later I had the pleasure of talking to the Michaela Joyce from Villas 3 who was looking exceptionally well and who told me she was there with all the Bay Estate heads and next I got a word with Alex Nordone from Red Barns Road and Conor McEvoy from Bay Estate who wanted to wish himself a happy birthday and when I said he should be getting birthday kisses from all the girls there, it kinda didn't go down too well with his girlfriend Jenny Byrne from Cooley Park who was sitting beside him, eh, sorry Jenny!
They were having a mad one with Conor Bowe, Stacey Hoey, Gary McNally, Shane McElroy all from Bay Estate who told me it was going to be a cracker, Stephen Boothman from Lisdoo, Caroline Moore from Bay Estate and Daniel Sweeney also from Bay Estate who told me this was the only corner seat to be sitting in because the party was buzzing from there.
After this I headed over for a chat with Feardia and Lisa Farrell from Culloville who told me they are family friends and wanted to with the birthday girl all the best on her big night.
Finally, before I departed I met Gerry and Geraldine Doogan from Lennon Melia Terrace who were there with daughter Lyndsey and son Darren and girlfriend Shauna Whearty as well as Shane Lennon from Ard Easmuinn and they wanted to make sure Ashling had a brilliant party for her 21st.
