Condolences to the Sharkey families Ballinurd on the death of Sean Sharkey from Blackrock brother of Martin Sharkey, also to the family and relatives of Ian Murphy Dundalk, his sister Lorraine was a top athlete with Kilkerley Athletic Club for many years.

BOWLS CLUB

Kilkerley Bowls Club members extend sincere sympathy to Chairman Donal Quigley on the recent death of his beloved mother Anna, R.I.P. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

Members have been very active since hosting the Triples Tournament Competition, having competed in Tournament's in Killanny, Darver and Cooley.

The Ladies took part in the Nationals at Zone Level and some will contest the Over 55's. The Club is taking part once again in Division 2 of the Oriel Zone 10's League but after a great start, have lost the three most recent games.

However the League continues until early Spring so plenty of time to improve on present placing.

The recent Halloween Round Robin was eagerly contested as will a similar event coming up before Christmas. Bowls continues each Wednesday night in the Community Centre from 7.45pm to 10.00pm so come along and give this popular sport a try.

CONCERT

A concert takes place in the Community Centre on this Friday November 23 at 8.00pm with entertainment provided by local talent and also featuring Annie Mac. Admission is €5 and all proceeds go to the local Young at Heart Group.

DANCING

Dancing in the Community Centre this coming Sunday night with music by Tommy Carroll. Country Traditions play on Sunday December 2, Steve Farlow on Sunday December 9, and Housty play on December 16. Dancing from 9.30pm to 12.30am.

FUNDRAISING

Kilkerley native McCabe who resides in Ballinagowan, Belmont, County Offaly and is confined to a wheelchair since an accident over 8 years ago, is hoping to walk again with the aid of a 'Rewalk' which is a wearable motorised exoskeleton suit, so along with family and friends he hopes that a successful fundraising campaign will realise the €100,000 needed to purchase the suit.

You can enter a draw which has a New Peugeot 208 as first prize, €1000 each for second and third and two more prizes of €500.

Tickets are €20 and draw takes place on December 15.

MEETINGS

The Parish Liturgy Group meet in the Parochial House on Monday November 26 at 8.30pm and the Pastoral Area Resource Team (PART) meet in Knockbridge School Wednesday November 28 at 8.00pm.

BANN TO BOYNE

The first Armagh Diocesan Clergy Challenge took place from last Thursday November 8 to Sunday November 11, from the river Bann , South Derry to the river Boyne at Drogheda, the length of the Archdiocese.

All proceeds are in aid of ISPCC and in memory of Fr. Andrew McNally.

Fr. Gerry Campbell PP. took part in this challenge and is most thankful to all who supported/donated/sponsored this very worthy cause, and requests that all funds are submitted by this coming Sunday November 25.

BADMINTON

Kilkerley Emmets GFC held the Annual Nominations meeting last Thursday November 15 and the Annual General Meeting takes place in thje Clubrooms on Friday December 7 at 8pm.

The Club extends appreciation to all who supported the ' Come Dine with Me' fundraiser held on Saturday night November 10.

The Emmets ladies team would like to sincerely thank all who hosted, organised and participated in the very successful fundraising event.

A special word of appreciation to all who donated raffle prizes, McArdle Meats for their generosity, ace camera man on the night Fintan Clarke and Kilkerley Community Centre for use of their facilities.

In the U-21 Competition played at Kilkerley, the home outfit followed up on 1-12 to 2-5 win over Clan na Gael with a 4-13 to 37 victory over Mattock/Hunterstown on Saturday evening last.

On this Friday evening the semi final against St. Brides takes place in Kilkerley at 7.30pm.

SENIOR CITIZENS' PARTY

Kilkerley Community Alert again host the annual Senior Citizen's Christmas Party which takes place in the Community & Enterprise Centre on Sunday December 2.

The event commences at 2pm with a hot lunch, followed by Entertainment, Dancing and Spot prizes.

FATIMA PILGRIMAGE

This Pilgrimage takes place from June 20 to June 27, 2013 costing €699 per person sharing, including all meals and insurance. Single room supplement €15 per night.

If you pay in full by December 14, 2012 the €699 is reduced by €150.

If full payment is made by February 1, 2013 there is a reduction of €100, and if a deposit of €200 is paid by February 1, 2013 a reduction of €50 is available.
