FOLLOWING A very successful launch by Colm Cooper and Paddy Keenan and a very busy first registration night on December 19, the Geraldines are holding a second registration night for Operation Gersformation on Thursday January 3 from 7 to 9pm at the clubhouse at Marlbog Road.

As places are limited, the club is encouraging all those who want to take part, to register on Thursday. The programme commences on Sunday January 6.

The programme gives participants the chance to start 2013 with a healthier, sustainable lifestyle, adhering to the motto, 'It's never too late to be what you might have been!'

Operation Gersformation is a 10 week programme designed by people with health, fitness and nutrition expertise, the aim of which is to increase health awareness and help our community to be a healthier place.

This is done through a varied programme of events aimed at providing you with all the tools to help you achieve your personal goals. It's not just about health and fitness; it's also about engaging in a social event where fun and fitness share priority. Not only that, but all monies raised go directly to the local GAA club, Geraldines GFC.

Everyone aged 18 years and over can take part, regardless of fitness level, gender or sporting interest. The price for the programme is €60. Activities will include Circuit Training, Running Groups, Zumba, and Yoga. Participants will also receive an information booklet, weekly weigh in, nutritional advice, and a Family Walk in the mountains. There will also be the option to take part in a 4 mile run at the end of programme. High visibility vests have been provided by the Road Safety Authority for all participants.
