THE Mullaghbouy Community Centre in Glenmore, Riverstown, made history on Friday, November 22.

The hall witnessed a full house enjoying food, craic, music and a bar, bringing the locals back to the 'old' days and all for the worthiest of causes.

The triumph of the night was the €6,758 raised for Palliative Care, an organisation which has visibly affected so many.

Padraig McCann, his team of helpers and the Mullaghbouy Community Centre would like to sincerely thank everyone for their help and support including the countless sponsors, personal donations and to all who came along on the night.

Food was served by the ever generous Carlingford Arms who also provided the bar.

A superb range of music was displayed by Zoe Conway and John McIntyre followed by Patrice and finished with Gerard Long.

The two cash draws for €500 and €200 went to Johnny Larkin, Greenore, and Anne O'Connor, Grange, respectively. There were also another 15 generous raffle prizes.

The Palliative Care Society have commended the event and expressed their deepest thanks and admiration of the local community who made the night such a success.

On receiving the cheque the society stressed that every penny raised will go towards comforting those suffering and in pain.
