PIPE BAND FESTIVAL
After the success of last year's festival and the wonderful reception by both the local community and the many visitors, Carlingford and Cooley Tourism Association are proud to present the 2014 Carlingford Pipe Band Festival.
Featuring four bands – Carlingford, Annsbourough, Aughnamullen and St Josephs, Annalong – why not come along to Carlingford on this Sunday for a celebration of pipe band music at its best?
The parade begins at the Foy Centre Carlingford at 3.30 p.m. and continues throughout the village until 6 p.m. For more information, call, (086) 1973797, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.carlingford.ie
The placing of a pumping station at the Esmore Bridge, Omeath, was criticised by Cllr. Jim Loughran at the monthly meeting of Louth County Council. He wanted to know if a less obstrusive structure could not have been put in place and wanted to know if something could be done about it. Engineer Gerry Kelly said he was unaware of the situation but would look into it.
Information is sought regarding the theft of a roll of sheep wire and a roll of barbed wire from a farm at Willville on Saturday May 17. A large white van with lettering on its side was spotted on the lane adjacent to the farm known as Pete's Lane at 3.30 p.m. that day. Anyone with information should contact Carlingford Garda Station.
