Community Alert group hold AGM

Cooley Community Alert held their AGM on the Thursday September 26th in St Marys hall. Garda Sgt. Jim Kilcoyne chaired the meeting for the election of the new commitee.
The following were elected- chairman;Johnny Larkin, secretary;Hugh O'Hanlon, treasurer; Tommy Eccles, PRO; Enda Flynn and Garda liason officers; Sgt Jim Kilcoyne and Garda Eamon Kissane.
New chairman Johnny Larkin thanked outgoing chairman David Mc Cluskey and treasurer Tommy Mc Grane for their contribution during this past few years.
He also thanked Sgt Jim Kilcoyne for the good work being done by the Garda, despite their limited resources.
He said that he was looking forward to working with everyone involved in the coming year.
Among the many issues discussed at the meeting was the continued success of the text alert system with the number of people now involved approaching one hundred. A number of ideas on how to further improve the system were voiced and we hope to implement these in the coming months.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday November 28th in St Marys hall at 8pm and all are welcome.
